During the projectweek on diversity for the 1st year bachelor students of the faculty of political and social sciences, CEPEC organized a workshop on diversity versus creativity in advertising. It is often said that advertising contains lots of stereotypes. Men and women are regularly presented in stereotypical roles, but also several minority groups are rarely used in advertising. Critics accuse advertising of confirming conservative gender roles and strengthening prejudices in society. Therefore, many people plead for a fairer and more accurate representation in advertising, however, is this so obvious? During the CEPEC workshop we did the test! After a brief lesson about diversity in advertising, the students were challenged to develop a campaign for IKEA, according to the rules of art and creativity, but also taking diversity into account. Finally, on Friday they presented their projects to their fellow students.  40 students took part in the workshop. It was the first time they came into contact with the field of communication management. Congratulations to the students for the effort they put into this project and for the great and surprising results.
